For all of you that have seen Chrissy perform, know this isn't her first time at the rodeo. After years of hard work and learning a few tricks of the trade, Chrissy knows exactly where she is meant to be, on stage. If it's playing local gigs or writing new material, Chrissy's passion to strive through the sound of todays so called "Country" music has a huge influence in her songwriting. So when funds allow, she heads to Mississippi to get her itch scratched with a few days of songwriting. With just a guitar and Jerry "Jigger" Bridges by her side, they busted out a handful of nothing but pure country. She quotes, "I had lyrics written down on sticky notes, barf bags from the airplane and random notebooks filled with lyrics that had no home. Jigger knew exactly where I wanted to go with my music. I'll never forget when he asked me what style of music I was looking to portray. After replying to his questions, he said, "Oh, you wanna sing REAL country?" With "Waymore's Outlaws" by her side, there was no doubt she was one step closer to accomplishing her goal. And that was bringing back the roots of Country. Don't know when the album will get finished but "Keeping It Country" is currently in the works and will no doubt, will be a favorite for any lover of the traditional sounds of country music.
